Let the room decide what it is worth

We run two ten day auctions every month, one in the middle of the month and one at the end. Items of all values can be included in either auction.

Reasons to use this service

  • You want a fast, scheduled sale that is finished in ten days
  • The card is wanted right now, a chase card, a hot set or a fresh grade
  • Comps are unclear and bidding will find the real number

Best for chase cards, hyped cards, newly graded cards and rare items without clear comps. Read how the auctions run.

Name your price and wait

Listed in our eBay store for up to three months at a price you set yourself. If nobody takes it, relist it for another three months, move it into an auction, or have it back.

Reasons to use this service

  • You would rather hold a price than gamble on a bidding war
  • Recent comps are clear and you want to aim at them
  • You can wait for the one collector who wants exactly this

Best for low pop slabs, niche promos, sealed product and higher end cards with solid comp history. Read how Buy It Now works.

Choosing a route

Auction or Buy It Now, and how to tell

The honest answer is that it depends on what you want out of the sale rather than on which one is better. An auction is a decision to accept the market’s number in exchange for speed and certainty of an ending. Buy It Now is a decision to hold out for your own number in exchange for waiting.

Auctions suit cards people are already hunting. A chase card from a hot set, a card fresh out of grading, anything where the pop report is doing the talking. Put one of those in front of an audience that has been waiting for it and the bidding does work no fixed price can do.

A card nobody is hunting does not need a deadline, it needs a shop window.

Buy It Now suits the opposite case. Low pop slabs, niche promos, sealed product, higher end singles with a solid comp history. These sell to one specific person, and that person may not be looking on the Sunday night your auction happens to end.

If comps are clear, price against them and let the listing sit. Three months is a long window, and the impulse purchase is real. If it has not gone by then, keep it up for another 3 months for £3, move it into an auction block and let the market decide after all, or have it back.

Send us a mixed collection and we will tell you which cards belong in which route. That split is most of the value in doing this properly.

Tell us what you have

Send over the cards you are thinking about and we will come back with the route that suits them and what you can expect to receive.
